All Florida Paper’s Own Named “2014 Rookie of the Year” at the Annual HYPE® Awards
Medley, FL – Alexander Hannett, from All Florida Paper took home the award for 2014 Rookie of the Year at the 5th annual HYPE® Awards, hosted by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) at Jungle Island on March 5, with hundreds of South Florida’s business leaders in attendance. There were a total of 18 finalists from Miami-Dade County, Broward County and Palm Beach County competing for 5 categories (Rookie of the Year, Most Valuable Graduate, Go Getter, Difference Maker, and Entrepreneur of the Year). The 2014 HYPE® awards honored South Florida’s rising stars, who have individually demonstrated outstanding achievement and innovation.
Alexander topped Angie Freire (Manager of Marketing and Specialty Leasing at Jones Lang LaSalle), Kiesha Moodie (Director of Alumni Affairs at Teach for America), and Dr. Kari Morgenstein (Assistant Professor and Interim Director at the ECHO program at University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine), all of whom were finalists for the HYPE® Award for 2014 Rookie of the Year. This marks the first HYPE® Award nomination or win for Alexander as well as All Florida Paper, and at a metropolitan level.
Alexander has seen a steep career surge over the past 21 months, since moving from Virginia in 2012 in pursuit of his professional dream, in marketing and strategy. He began working at All Florida Paper in November of 2012, as a part-time marketing specialist, and through is work ethic and tenacity, quickly climbed the ranks to Manager of Corporate Strategy and Marketing in just 10 months. Today, alongside the CEO and COO, Alexander manages All Florida Paper’s brand, website, and overall marketing department. In addition, All Florida Paper is an INC 5000 company, a list of America’s Fastest Growing Private Companies.
The primary projects Alexander managed included designing All Florida Paper’s new industry leading website, marketing vendors more effectively to the company’s customers, and pushing a variety of products to the market to help the overall sales of a variety of product lines. These marketing initiatives led to a substantial increase in sales in many of our product lines over the course of 12 months, and have also increased our outlook for this next year. In addition, other projects he managed ranged from restructuring several parts of human resources and managing and protecting intellectual property, to managing the research and analysis of many of the company’s initiatives, including retirement benefits.
Alexander’s HYPE® buzz has remained steady throughout the last 12 months. He’s been elected to the Alumni Board of Directors of Barry University, nominated to the 2014 69th Edition of Who’s Who in America (waiting for a final decision this summer), and nominated for the GMCC 2014 Technology Leaders of the Year Awards.
